I feel like May just flew by so quickly. I got a lot done and at the same time there was so much more I wish I could have done. Plus, I don't feel like I accomplished my May Goals as much as I would've liked (and completely failed on one of them!). Let's take a look and see how I did...

1 Year Blogversary + Blog Goals for May
It's been officially one year since my first blog post went live! I have to shamefully admit that I forgot about it until after it passed. April went by so fast! I wanted to take the time to say thank you for reading my blog. I very much appreciate the support I've gotten for She's Got the Notion and it encourages me to keep writing. You can see my very modest first ever post here.

Blog Goals for April
Last month I started posting my blogging goals for the month. I wanted to start having a theme for each month to make my blog feel more cohesive. I also had hoped it would make me more productive. Let's first revisit March and see how I did. The theme for March was "Green":
- The color green. (For St. Patrick's Day, of course). I did this with my Crochet Clover Pots and 'Green' Crochet & Sewing Projects post. I call this goal a success!
- Not spending the green. I set out to not spend any money of craft supplies this month. I succeeded! Now, I didn't get done as many projects as I wanted. Some things like not having a the correct size zipper prevented me from starting some projects. Hopefully I can continue the trend of not overspending on materials and just buying necessities in April.
- Reducing waste. The Reusable Cotton Pads & Face Scrubbies I crocheted met this goal. I wanted to make some reusable non-paper towels too, but lacked the supplies. (It may be a future project!)
- Using (and repurposing) what I have. Not spending money on supplies made me use what I already had. My Bunny Clutch and my Crochet Stash Basket made use of materials I already had. That being said, I didn't get to do any repurposing or refashioning in March. I'd love to make that my goal for April!
Overall, I'm most proud that I didn't give in and spend money on craft supplies in March. I hope that habit of using what I have sticks with me. What I was disappointed with was that overall I had less posts than in February (11 vs. 12), especially since February was a shorter month. Hopefully I can get a better pace going with my projects this month. March did, however, bring some popular posts, specifically the Crochet Clover Pots and the Crochet Stash Basket. I hope I can continue and get better writing crochet patterns because the response has been so positive!

Blog Goals for March
February is so short of a month that I feel like March sneaks up on me. I love March, though, so it's a happy surprise. It's when spring begins and the flowers start blooming and the weather starts warming up. It becomes sundress season too, one of my favorites next to boot season.
In honor of spring and fresh beginnings, I decided to do something a little different this month on my blog. In order to have a more cohesive feel to my posts, I want to pick an overall theme for the month to work around. Since March 17 is St. Patrick's Day, I thought I'd make this months theme green. It will be about more than just the color, although I do have some St. Patrick's Day projects coming up!
What I will focus on this month:
- The color green. For St. Patrick's Day, of course.
- Not spending the green. I'm setting a goal to not buy any new craft supplies this month. Don't worry, it won't mean I will stop crafting! I have more than enough stash fabric and yarn to get me through the month. If anything, it will force me to get more creative. I'd love to get re-acquainted with what I have too. Sometimes I will be looking for a particular fabric and be surprised by something I forgot I had. This will also be a great month for me to actually work on projects that I have set aside and forgotten about.
- Reducing waste. I'm planning some projects to make things that are reusable and reduce the amount of garbage I create every month.
- Using (and repurposing) what I have. It's easy to think of a project and go out and buy the supplies needed. I want to try looking at what I have and finding ways to use them in a project. It's backwards to what I'm used too, but I'm hoping it'll will inspire me to try it out more in the future.
