Crochet Pattern Review: Peaked Hat

It still feels a bit like summer here, but I wanted to get a jump on my fall & winter crochet projects. The first project I wanted to do I had my eye on for awhile on Ravelry, the Women's Peaked Cap. For this pattern, I used Lion Brand Yarn Vanna's Choice Yarn in Oatmeal.I ended up using 2 skeins. I finished the hat with 1 skein, but needed the 2nd to crochet the brim. It was pretty quick too, it just took me a couple evenings in front of the TV to finish.

Today marks the first day of fall. This is my favorite season, when the leaves start turning pretty shades of red, orange & yellow, the weather gets cooler, and the holiday season is approaching. This also means it's almost time for the boots, coats, scarves and hats. Fall is also my favorite season for crochet projects. Quick & Easy Zipper Pouch Tutorial

Do you remember the tutorial I did showing how I changed a pair of bermuda shorts into shorts? Well I saved the pieces I cut off, and now I made a cute little pouch using the salvaged fabric. It's was so quick and easy that even if you've never sewn a zipper, you can made this! It is unlined, so I finished it with french seams (it sounds fancy, but I promise it is very simple).

All you need for this project is salvaged fabric with a hemmed or finished edge and a zipper. Let's begin!
